EDDIE HILL grew up in the working-class community of Glenwood, a development in Greensboro, North Carolina. The prevailing culture of hard work and community bonds heavily influenced Eddie's early life.
Money was tight, but neighborhood kids like Eddie found an oasis in the Rec. Center.
Eddie struggled in school with some of his life choices but eventually broke through a number of challenges to make his way into Barton College in Wilson, N.C. He later moved to Texas to earn a master's degree from Texas Christian University.
Today, Eddie still calls Texas home, along with his wife and two grown children. For most of his career, he has served churches in various roles, like Monica Park Christian Church in Garland, Texas, where he has served as pastor for 14 years.
A man who thrives with many irons in the fire, Eddie also owns and operates a team-building company, hosting about 75 events and training sessions a year for businesses and schools. On the side, he volunteers with Kairos Prison Ministry, performs stand-up comedy, and flips houses.
